Multimedia key topic in 3rd journ forum

Multimedia journalism and the changes in newsrooms and in society that are taking place in its wake is the theme of this year’s Forum of Emerging Leaders in Asian Journalism set for July 11 and 12 at Ateneo’s Loyola Campus.

The annual forum, started in 2006, gathers Asian journalists, mostly fellows and graduates of the Ateneo’s M. A. Journalism program.  It is convened jointly by ACFJ and the Media Programme Asia of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

2 Photojourn alumni recognized by Sopa

Two graduates of the ACFJ Diploma in Photojournalism program were among the photojournalists cited by the Society of Publishers in Asia (Sopa) in its 2008 Awards for Editorial Excellence.  The awards were given during a gala dinner held June 4 in Hong Kong.

The graduates, Filipino photojournalists Raffy Lerma and Rem Zamora, took two of the four pictures given the honorable mention in the award category Excellence in News Photography. The pictures were published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, where Lerma and Zamora are staff photographers.
