Mathletes Xavier Algenio (Montserrat/8-Isore) and Lance Abarquez (La Storta/8-Delgado) were among the best performing participants in the Secondary 2 division of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Area Big Bay Bei (BBB) Mathematical Olympiad heat round and the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO) 2020 heat round, which were held online on December 6 and November 22, 2020, respectively.  For the BBB Olympiad, Xavier and Lance each won the gold award and the Golden Cup. The Golden Cup is given only to mathletes who have won three consecutive gold medals at the Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO), the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO), and the Big Bay Bei (BBB) Math Olympiad.

For the HKISO, Xavier won another gold award, while Lance earned a participation certificate.

Ateneo de Manila University was also named Most Outstanding School of the BBB Philippines heat round, thanks to the combined efforts of the 21 mathletes from the Basic Education Unit (six from AGS, two from AJHS, 13 from ASHS) who won a total of eight Golden Cups, ten golds, seven silvers, and four bronzes.

The virtual awarding ceremony for the BBB and HKISO Philippines Heat Round winners was held on December 19, 2020.
