Nathan Batnag of Cardoner/10-Chabanel won a bronze award for the Philippines at the Pan-Asia Pacific (PAP) International Mathematics Invitation Competition, which was held online on September 26, 2020. Nathan’s bronze was one of 8 golds, 14 silvers, 20 bronzes and 20 merit awards harvested by Filipino math wizards at the competition.

Per the Mathematics Development Academy of the Philippines (MathDAP), the PAP is “grueling and challenging,” and also “one of the most rigorous math contests in Asia.” Organized by the International Mathematical Organizing Committee of the Asia-Pacific Cup, the competition drew participants from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia, as well as mathletes from various provinces and cities in China, Hong Kong and Macao.
Nathan is a member of the AJHS Math Training Team.
