Last April 14, 2019, then-incoming Grade 9 Atenean Marcus Esteban was named Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) in the Boys’ 15-16 yrs. old Class C Division of the CNLCAR (Central Northern Luzon Cordillera Administrative Region) Swim Series 2019. The award was given to Esteban following his medal haul of one gold (50m breaststroke), two silvers (100m butterfly, 50m freestyle), and three bronzes (200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, and 50m butterfly) at the competition. Because he was also named MOS at the CNLCSCA (Central Northern Luzon CAR Swimming Coaches Association) competitions held last September and November, respectively, this achievement is a three-peat of sorts for the young swimmer. At the 36th CNLCSCA held at the Bulacan Sports Complex last Sept. 23, 2018, Esteban won a gold medal for the 200m freestyle, a silver for the 50m butterfly, and a bronze for the 50m breaststroke. These earned him the MOS award in the boys’ 13-14 division. At the 39th CNLCSCA Swim Series held at the Tarlac Recreational Park last Nov. 25, 2018, Esteban won a gold medal for the 50m breaststroke and a bronze medal for the 50m backstroke. These resulted in him being named MOS in the boys’ 13-14 division again.

The CNL CAR Swim Series 2019 was held at Dagupan City Pool Side in Dagupan, Pangasinan.

Marcus Esteban is from the class of Cardoner/9-Baena in the Ateneo Junior High School.
