ASMPH’s Pugad Agila takes off
The students of the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH) again showed their solidarity as they came together on May 8, 2015 to celebrate and support Batch 2015 as they prepare for the upcoming Physician Licensure Examinations. The event “ Pugad Agila 2015: Ang Simula ng Paglalakbay” marks the official start of the 100-day countdown before the Licensure Examinations in August. The celebration started with a mass held in Chung Te Auditorium in the morning. After mass, participants and guests moved to the multi-purpose hall where Dr. Ma. Luz Querubin, the Associate Dean of ASMPH, gave the opening remarks.
“Passing the licensure exam is a milestone for any kind of profession. It sets any degree-holder or recent graduate on his or her path to a successful career. And for anyone aspiring to become a doctor, training has already started on the first day of medical school,” she said.
Dr. Querubin also reminded Batch 2015 that their fears and agitations are unfounded because they have already received the proper training and guidance. These, combined with their diligence, she said, should adequately equip Batch 2015 to have the confidence and strength necessary in passing this seemingly daunting milestone in their lives.

The launch of Pugad Agila also featured presentations, performances and games for the board takers. In essence, the launch served as a break that everyone needed in the midst of preparations for an important step in their professional careers.
The event ended with a short message from ASMPH Dean Dr. Manuel Dayrit. With only a few weeks left before the licensure exams, Dr. Dayrit emphasized the importance of taking this challenge with the support of one’s loved ones. This, according to him, is always helpful in obtaining one’s goals.
