Ateneo launches a book on federal Philippines
With the aim of giving the Filipinos a better understanding of the proposed federal government, the Ateneo School of Government presented its new book Debate on Federal Philippines: A Citizen’s Handbook to the public.
The book launch was held last month at Kamia Room, EDSA Shangri-la, Mandaluyong City. It was graced by former Senate President Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel who encouraged everyone to read it.
“The authors deserve the commendation of the readers of the book for the message that while we have collectively engaged in extensive research on the topic, no claim is made that all answers are settled in this volume. Allow me to congratulate the 6 authors for this very interesting and informative volume,” said Pimentel.
The handbook is co-authored by Dr. Eduardo Araral, Jr. of National University of Singapore; Dr. Paul D. Hutchcroft of the Australian National University; Dr. Gilberto M. Llanto of the Philippine Institute for Development Studies; Jonathan E. Malaya, Assistant Secretary for Capacity Development and Communications of the Department of the Interior and Local Government; Dr. Ronald U. Mendoza, Dean of Ateneo School of Government and Dr. Julio C. Teehankee of De La Salle University.
Sold at P220, the 108 page book was published by Ateneo De Manila University Press.
