THE. FR. BERNAS CENTER FOR CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION  & RESEARCH
The Fr. Bernas Center for Continuing Legal Education & Research (The Fr. Bernas Center) is a special unit of the Ateneo Law School established to provide a venue for continuing legal education programs by holding legal education series, undertaking legal researches and producing legal publication on current, relevant and important legal topics and subjects.
 
PROGRAMS OF THE CENTER
The Continuing Legal Education program consists of holding legal education series such as the MCLE, conferences, seminars, focused briefing session and round table discussions on selected legal topics. This program is geared towards enhancing the legal knowledge and skill of the lawyers and other professional dealing with law.  The Center is accredited by the Supreme Court as MCLE provider. In Re: Bar Matter 850 of the Supreme Court lawyers are required to take mandatory continuing legal education (MCLE) every three years a total of 36 credit units or equivalent to thirty six hours.
 
The Legal Research & Publication Program seeks to undertake the professional researches on specific legal subjects and issues for governmental institutions, non-governmental institutions and individuals. The Legal Research Program shall include rendering legal opinions, drafting bills and executive issuances, reviewing contracts, preparing policy papers and legal briefs and doing comparative studies. The Center has conducted several research projects with the Department of Trade Industry, Rule of Law Effectiveness-USAID and the IBP Journal, among others.
