“Do not be afraid” is mentioned twice in today’s gospel. The first time is when the angels appear to comfort Mary Magdalene and the other Mary who find the tomb of Jesus empty. The angels further tell them that Jesus has risen from the dead.
The second time is uttered by Jesus Himself. Afterward, He tells His brothers that He will meet them in Galilee.
