We regret to inform you that the deadlines for CPO processes for the annual closing of books will not be extended. This is because the Bureau of Internal Revenue has maintained it's deadline on the filing and payment of the Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT) despite the enhanced community quarantine brought about by Covid 19..
The EWT is deducted from all payments emanating from the expenditures all Units require when they prepare a purchase requisition or disburse any funds to pay for any expenditure.
In view of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, emphasizing strict home quarantine and in compliance with the University protocols, the Central Purchasing Office will exert efforts to process your requisitions and invoices that are necessary and critical to the mission of the University through electronic submission and approval of requests.
In this regard we have deployed remote access for the Electronic Purchase Requisition System (EPRS) as stated on our email memo yesterday Mar 20, 2020. Please check the instructions therein.
Unit heads are requested to remind their administrators and staff of the deadlines and this remote access to EPRS.
Please email your questions and clarification and we will reply as best as we can.
For your information and compliance.
Thank you,
Regidor B. Macaraig
Director, Central Purchasing Office
