CARES: First Aid Protocol for Mental Health

Overview:

The course aims to equip participants with the psychological first aid using CARES protocol and acquire relevant skills in providing first response to employees’ mental health issues (Anxiety, Depression, Suicide Ideation, and Substance Use).
 
Objectives:
By the end of this 2-day workshop, participants should be able to:
 

  1. Describe the biopsychosocial factors that lead to mental health issues
  2. Apply the CARES protocol in understanding and dealing with Anxiety, Depression, Suicide Ideation, and Substance Use in the workplace
  3. Practice relevant skills in providing first response to employees’ mental health issues 
  4. Identify situations when referral to mental health professionals are required
