The Department of Biology recognizes two important considerations. First, quality education is necessary for the total development and success of an individual, as a person and as a member of the community. The Department of Biology is a proactive center of learning that provides teaching and research activities in the life sciences. As a center for excellence in biology education and research, it commits itself to distinction and leadership in undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of biodiversity, biomedicine and bio-education.

Second, the Department of Biology shares with the aspiration of the School of Science and Engineering regarding inter-disciplinarity among the sciences and the engineering disciplines. Thus, to interested parties, we look forward to future collaborations with you.
