Presentation of Blue Eagle The King sculpture to Fr Jett Villarin, SJ
ATENEO HIGH SCHOOL BATCH ’89 presents a limited edition Blue Eagle the King sculpture to Ateneo de Manila University President Fr. Jett Villarin, SJ. Fashioned out of brass and glass, the handcrafted work entitled Flight made by renowned artist Ferdinand “Ferdie” Cacnio is one of the 75 sculptures produced for the AHS ’89 Alumni Homecoming celebrations. The number of units commemorates the 75th year of the song Blue Eagle the King composed by Raul Manglapus. Each collector’s piece is numbered, and the proceeds go to the Tulong-Dunong Scholarship Foundation – an organization that provides scholarship opportunities for bright yet less-privileged students. The intimate turnover event was attended by Ferdie Cacnio himself and his family, as well as representatives from the Jubilarian Batch: Erick Bartolome, Phillip Panlilio, TJ Parpan, Nonong Velasco, Enril Magdato, RJ Bumanglag, Bogs Segundo and Ditto Lesaca.
