As part of its golden jubilee (50th anniversary) celebration, Ateneo Grade School’s (AGS) Class of '71 turned over checks totaling P1.1 million to the Ateneo de Manila University at a donation ceremony held on November 23, 2021. The donations of P1 million and P100,000 are earmarked for AGS’ Fr. Salty de la Rama Scholarship Fund and the restoration of the AGS Heritage Room’s Wall of Service, respectively. The Fr. Salty de la Rama Scholarship Fund is in honor of Fr. Emerito Salustiano R. de la Rama SJ, who served the AGS as its beloved Headmaster from March 2018 until his untimely demise in the morning of March 24, 2021.

Representing AGS ‘71 and AHS ‘75 at the ceremony were Congressman Bonito Singson, AGS ‘71 principal representative to the Ateneo Alumni Association (AAA); Norman Reyes, AGS ‘71 alternative representative to the AAA; Jay Cruz, AHS ‘75 principal representative to the AAA; and Jojo de la Rama, brother of the late Fr. Salty de la Rama SJ and a member of AGS ‘71.

Also present at the event were Fr. Roberto C. Yap SJ, Ateneo de Manila University President; Fr. Joaquin Jose Marie Sumpaico III SJ, Ateneo de Manila University Vice President for Basic Education; and Jervy M. Robles, Ateneo de Manila Grade School Headmaster.
