Six Ateneo de Manila Grade School mathletes were among the best performing participants in the Primary 6 division of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Area Big Bay Bei (BBB) Mathematical Olympiad Philippines heat round, which was conducted online on December 6, 2020.

Leading the AGS awardees were Alphan Lomibao (6-Xavier) and Zion Uy (6-Campion), who each won the gold award and the Golden Cup. The Golden Cup is given only to mathletes who have won three consecutive gold medals at the Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO), the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO), and the Big Bay Bei (BBB) Math Olympiad.

Darren Uy (6-Xavier) took the silver award, while Sieggy Cajucom (6-Bellarmine), Rohan Herrera (6-Xavier), and Magnus Navarro (6-Bellarmine) each bagged the bronze award.

Ateneo de Manila University also received the award for Most Outstanding School of the BBB Philippines Heat Round, thanks to the combined efforts of the 21 mathletes from the Basic Education Unit (six from AGS, two from AJHS, 13 from ASHS) who won a total of eight Golden Cups, 10 golds, seven silvers, and four bronzes.

The winners of the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO) 2020 Philippines Heat Round – which was held online on November 22, 2020- were also feted at the BBB award ceremony. Alphan Lomibao bagged the bronze award while Darren Uy and EJ Santiago (6-Berchmans) received the merit award.
