Elroi NavarroAteneo Grade School student Elroi Navarro of 2-Acacia recently bagged the 5th place medal in the 7th annual Association of Ballet Academies of the Philippines (ABAP) ballet competition. Despite being a first-time participant in this prestigious event, Elroi earned a spot in the Top Ten for his performance in the Junior Classical Solo for Boys Category. This year's competition was held at the Meralco Theater from August 24-25, 2019 and was participated in by students from both ABAP affiliated and non-affiliated dance schools and academies in the country. Through his growing interest in this art form and this very first award for ballet, Elroi has demonstrated that boys can indeed develop and excel in this field.

Per its website, ABAP "... has gained grounds in the upgrading of classical ballet education through workshops, performances, tours, and other related activities.” Now in its 26th year, the ABAP “…is the country's longest and only existing organization of dance conservatories."
