Admission Policy
The Ateneo de Manila High School, an exclusive school for boys run by the Society of Jesus, is a Catholic college preparatory high school with programs designed for the above average student. As a general rule, students are accepted only in first year. In exceptional cases, a limited number of transferees are accepted to second year. No transferees are accepted beyond second year.
For First Year Applicants: The applicant must be a member of the graduating class or in the terminal grade of his elementary school at the time of application. Thus, Grade 6 students from schools where elementary education is only up to the sixth grade are already qualified to apply, while those from schools with Grade 7 must be in Grade 7 when they apply for admission to the Ateneo High School.
No minimum grade is demanded of first year applicants but it is required that they have no failing grades and have good deportment records.
The applicant must pass the entrance exam and go through a personal interview. An applicant may take the entrance test for first year only once.
For Second Year Applicants:The school accepts a limited number of transferees into second year. The applicant for transfer must have good grades and good deportment records. He is also required to pass the entrance test and undergo personal interview.
As in application to first year, a student may take the entrance test for second year only once.

QUALIFICATIONS TO TAKE THE EXAMINATION:1. The applicant must be a candidate for graduation in 2011.
2. He must have good grades and deportment.
3. He must not have applied for first year in the Ateneo de Manila High School
prior to this application.
Requirements and Procedures:Secure an application form from the Office of Admission & Aid and submit the duly accomplished form with the following requirements at least
two (2) weeks before the examination date.
- Photocopy of the report cards for the last completed school year (2009-2010) and at least the 1st quarter/Grading Period/ Term GRADES of the present school year (2010-2011). (Note: For applicants from the Ateneo Grade School, submit also a photocopy of Grade 5 report card.)
- HANDWRITTEN autobiography on a regular size white bond (8 1/2" x 11")
- Two recent I.D. pictures (1” x 1”)
- Photocopy of birth certificate (NSO Copy)
- If applicant is NOT a Filipino Citizen, submit a photocopy of Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR).
- If applicant has dual citizenship, submit at least a photocopy of Philippine Passport or Certificate of Recognition As A Filipino Citizen.
- Php700.00 non-refundable application/testing fee. For foreign applicants and expatriates, an additional processing fee of US$ 25.00.

- IMPORTANT: Incomplete application forms will not be processed.
- An applicant who cannot submit a photocopy of his first grading period report card for SY 2010-2011 on or before 17 September 2010 due to a later schedule of release of grades by his school has until 15 October 2010 to do so.

Scholarships And Financial AidFinancial Aid is available to qualified families and application forms may be obtained from the Office of Admission & Aid. Application forms for financial aid should be submitted together with the application forms for admission. All supporting documents required must be submitted with the forms.
Incomplete applications will not be processed.
For Second Year ApplicantsAdmission to second year is dependent on the availability of slots in second year for the next school year. Information on admission requirements and date of entrance examinations for second year will be released by the end of October 2010.
