Of equal mettle were the other two finalists, Australia National University and Hong Kong Baptist University. Held at the Hong Kong Baptist University in Kowloon, Hong Kong last Friday, November 24, 2017.  The challenge beban at 8am and was completed at 9pm with and Awards Ceremony and Dinner.

This year's theme : "Entrepreneurship in a Changing Global Environment" was all challenge for the competing universities. Starting in June with 35 entries from institutions around the world, the five finalists began their homestretch preparations on September 10, 2017. The finals case proved to be harder as it messed an entrepreneurial challenge of marketing wines in China while trying to raise capital! If that looked simple enough to most, it was not to be as the founder insisted on using Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality as a means to do so while his cash was sliding at break neck speed. How is that for a six hour case and a tense 20 minute presentation followed by a tense 20 minute question and answer portion from a diverse set of European and Asian judges experienced in enterprise growth as well as modern day technological marketing methods.

The 2017 Ateneo team is composed of the top of its Management Honors batch - Ms. Justine Malabanan, double Major BS ME and BS MATH - Gabe Sin, BS ME - Bettina Maog and the quintessential BS Comtech - Ms. Bea Ruiz. They were mentored by Professors Johnny Filart and Jose Gerardo Cruz     , supported by a bevy of subject matter experts from the Ateneo community.

All in all the HKBU-IIBD Business Case Competition has lived up to its vision of molding business leaders of the future by continuing to put the students in the forefront of real life issues in business innovation. Ateneo for one has benefitted from this valuable challenge over the past ten years as its previous student-participants are now strategically employed and are in very responsible positions in companies such as Mckinsey- Phils. and Malaysia,  Bain & Co., Proctor and Gamble, Unilever, Pilipinas Shell and Temasek Group of Singapore.
