Ateneo de Manila places Second in 21st Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition (ICFC)

The Ateneo de Manila team won 1st Runner-up in the 21st Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition (ICFC) organized by the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX). The university is represented by Isabel Jocyn R. Villanueva (4 BS ME), John Renz S. Alvarado (4 BSM AMF) and Danielle Rose D. Go (4 BSM AMF). The team is coached by Ronald C. Testa from Finance and Accounting department of JGSOM.

For more than two decades, the ICFC is the most prestigious and longest-running finance quiz competition in the country, with questions patterned after the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 curriculum and CMA certification.  The coverage includes financial reporting and analysis, corporate finance, financial instruments, economics, statistics, managerial accounting, financial technology, and ethics.

 
A nationwide elimination round was earlier held on 25 October 2019 with 80 participating schools competing simultaneously in seven sites - NCR, Baguio, Pampanga, Bacolod, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao. The top 20 schools advanced to the final round of competition held at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Pasay City on 22 November 2019.
