Office of Health Services
The LS Office of Health Services (LSHS) is a school-based health center that promotes the comprehensive health and wellness of the Loyola Schools students through quality health services and relevant health programs. These are carried out in partnership with students and in collaboration with other student-centered offices of the University.
Vision - Mission
LSHS highlights the following elements in its vision-mission: the provision of comprehensive care, including focus on health and wellness; commitment to quality services that are based on existing standards of school health; implementation of programs that go beyond individual encounters; partnership with students; and, coordination of care with other offices in the Ateneo, with the family and with health professionals in the community.
LSHS is committed to the following goals:
Assure access of LS students to primary health care in the campus.
Provide a system for dealing with crisis medical situations.
Provide services for screening and immunization.
Provide a system for identifying and responding to students’ health concerns and problems.
Promote comprehensive and skills-based health education.
Promote a healthful and safe school environment that facilitates learning.
Provide a system of evaluation of the effectiveness of the school health program.
Currently, the LSHS provides acute care services to the LS students while also working on improving a more systematic assessment of students’ health through the use of the Guidelines for Adolescent Preventive Services (GAPS). Health education is carried out on every individual encounter as well as through trainings, workshops and multi-media use. An immunization program for students is also in place.
