BS LfSci majors top pre-medicine quiz bee

The Ateneo de Manila University team composed of Peterni G. Coloyan (3 BS LfSci), Gabriel Angelo B. Estampador (2 BS LfSci), and Joshua Emmanuel Q. Rodriguez (4 BS LfSci) won the championship in the Excellence, Knowledge, Genius (EKG) Inter-University Pre-Medical Quiz Show held last 17 February 2017 at the Museum of a History of Ideas in the University of the Philippines-Manila. All three students are members of Talino at Tagumpay ng BOx (TaTaBOx), the official academic competition team of the Ateneo Biological Organization - eXplore. eXperience. eXcel. (BOx). Coloyan is BOx's Deputy for Academic Competitions.
 
Two other teams of the Department of Biology and BOx, consisting of BS Biology and BS Life Sciences majors, joined the competition. One of these also advanced to the final round with the top five teams from a group of 17. Placing 2nd and 3rd were the teams from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and University of the Philippines-Manila Intarmed Program, respectively.
 
The event is organized yearly by the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority of the UP-Manila College of Medicine. Representatives of the Department and BOx last won this championship for Ateneo in 2013.
