Biography: 

Ph.D. Science, Chiba University, Japan

Dr. Nofel Lagrosas works at the Instrumentation and Technology Development / Urban Air Quality program of Manila Observatory.  His specialty is in remote sensing, with expertise in computational and experimental aspects.  He analyzes lots of satellite data spanning several decades to make revised climate maps for the Philippines. He designs cloud imaging and monitoring cameras.  He measures air pollution using LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and DOAS (Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy).  Dr. Nofel Lagrosas has many undergraduate students working for him from sophomores to seniors.  He meets his research group twice a week, two hours per meeting.  Many of his students present their research work in international conferences.
