Call for Volunteers: Typhoons 2020 Relief Packing at LS Covered Courts
From the Vice President for Social Development:
26 November 2020
To the Ateneo Community,
The Ateneo DReaM Team, Tanging Yaman Foundation, and Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan have been working on relief operations for the past few weeks in light of the recent typhoons. Thankfully, with your support, both cash and in-kind donations have been coming in. This allowed us to continuously work on the relief packing operations at the Ateneo College Covered Courts. So many of our students, faculty, staff and alumni have also been seeking out opportunities to do more to extend support more actively.
Given this, with the permission of the local government of Quezon City, we are calling on volunteers from among our students, faculty, staff, and alumni, to assist with packing of relief goods for two weeks, starting tomorrow, Friday, November 27, 2020. These relief operations will, of course, follow strict GCQ guidelines, and are thus limited to 25 people per shift. Other guidelines are as follows:
- There will be two shifts per day; 8-12NN and 1-5PM, Mondays - Saturdays.
- This volunteer opportunity is open to students, faculty, staff and alumni of Ateneo, 18-60 of age and in good health.
- All volunteers are required to sign up ; walk-ins are not allowed.
- Student volunteers will be required to present a letter from their parents, and will be asked to show their IDs.
- The following health protocols will be strictly followed: pre-registration, wearing of face mask and face shield, social distancing, filling up of health survey form prior to campus entry
- Each person is only allowed to sign up for a maximum of three slots every week.
- All volunteers give consent for photos and videos to be taken for documentation purposes.
Those interested in volunteering may do so at this link: tinyurl.com/ADMUxTYFxSLBVolunteerSignups. The deadline for sign-ups is at 5PM on the day prior to your volunteer shift.
If you have any questions or concerns about volunteer sign ups, please contact Michelle de Guzman via email (mmdeguzman@ateneo.edu).
We, again, thank our volunteers, staff, and those who have been tirelessly working to make this relief effort more efficient and effective. We draw inspiration from you in the midst of these trying times.
Let us continue to work together to provide much needed support to our fellow countrymen!
AMDG!
