ONCE THE APPLICANT HAS READ THE EXPLANATION OF THE WHOLE APPLICATION PROCESS ON THIS PAGE, HE/SHE MAY CLICK THIS LINK TO ACCESS THE ONLINE APPLICATION PLATFORM:

Applicants from the Ateneo de Manila Junior High School are requested to complete the application process by September 2, 2019
The deadline for application for all other applicants is September 20, 2019.
The explanation of the admission process is divided into three parts:  1) Things to do before online application, 2) Online application, and 3) Entrance exam and results.

I. THINGS TO DO BEFORE GOING ONLINE TO APPLY

  1. The applicant should make sure he/she is eligible to apply. The payment of the application and testing fee (P750) happens at the start of the process so it is the applicant’s responsibility to first ensure that he/she is eligible before he creates an application account in the online platform and pays the fee.
  1. The applicant should prepare file copies of the documents that will eventually be uploaded in the online system.

  C.   To facilitate the application process, the applicant should also:

1.  Read the data privacy policy of the ADMU at http://ateneo.edu/udpo/ADMU-Privacy-Policies/Students-applicants-alumni.  One of the first steps of the online process will be to read and agree with the terms stated in this policy.
2.  Choose two persons who are willing to accomplish a recommendation for the applicant. The two persons should hold a position of authority over the applicant (e.g. class advisers, teachers, counselors) in his/her present school, should know the applicant well, and should have an active email address.  The applicant must ensure that these two persons agree to recommend the applicant. The applicant should get the email address and contact number of each recommender, which the applicant will later enter into the online system. The applicant should inform both recommenders that a recommendation form (google form) will be sent to them via their email address, and they are to fill up this form online.  It is the applicant’s responsibility to remind his/her recommenders to accomplish and send the online form.  If a recommender is unable to do so, the applicant must find another recommender.
3.  Know his/her Learner Reference Number (LRN)
4. Reflect on his/her choice of strand (ABM, GA, HUMSS, STEM) and discuss this with his/her parents.  When the applicant undergoes the online process, he/she will need to specify which strand is his/her first, second, third and fourth choice.
5. Check the entrance exam schedules in Part IIIA, and ensure availability for one of these schedules.  One of the last steps in the online application process is selecting an exam schedule.  Clicking on one of these choices makes the choice of session final.

II.  ONLINE APPLICATION

The online application platform will be open from August 14 to September 20, 2019.

The student-applicant will be the one to accomplish the online application with the help of his parents. The steps in the online application process are as follows:

  1. Creation of the applicant’s account
(Note: the name of the account must be the student-applicant’s name, not the name of anyone else who may be helping the student with the online process.)
  1. Log-in

Once the applicant creates his/her account, the applicant can log into the online application platform using the email address he/she registered and the password he/she set.

  1. Application

Once the applicant logs in to his account, he/she can easily find out what to do at every point in the process by clicking “FAQs” on sidebar.  The application process will have the following general steps.  The detailed instructions for each step are found in the FAQ section of the online system

  1. Initial Registration
  1. Payment of the Application and Testing Fee
Payment is possible through the Ateneo de Manila High School Cashier’s Office, which is open from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm, M-F.  At the cashier’s office, please present a screenshot (printed or displayed on a device) of the box with the applicant’s name and the system-generated payment reference number (which is unique to the applicant) and pay the application and testing fee of Php750 (cash only)

Over-the-counter payment is possible at BPI and Metrobank branches but applicants must download payment instructions at the bottom of this page and follow the instructions very carefully. If the applicant does not follow instructions, the payment made over the counter will not be credited or attributed to the applicant’s account.

  1. Filling-up of the online form and uploading of the required documents and images (“Draft” status)
  1. Checking of the documents by the system administrators (“For review” status)
  1. Editing and completion of the application, if necessary (“Return to applicant” status)
  1. Waiting for the recommendation forms to be sent to the system (“For recommendation” status)
  1. Receiving the go-signal to choose an examination session (“For examination” status)
  1. Receiving (via email) the printable exam permit.

Kindly note that the online application process is not complete until the applicant receives his/her exam permit.

Also note that the online process cannot be completed in a single day.

  • It will take 2-3 working days for payment to be reflected in the system due to the necessary processes that the bank and cashier have to execute.
  • It may take 1-2 working days for the checker to check the requirements.
  • It may take days before the recommender accomplishes and sends the online recommendation form.

Thus, it is good for the applicant to begin the process as soon as possible.

III. ENTRANCE EXAM AND RESULTS

  1. Admission and Placement Exam
  1. Those who complete the application process and receive exam permits will then take the Ateneo de Manila Senior High Admission and Placement Exam (A-SHAPE).

Session 1 – Saturday, October 5, 2019, 7:30 am to 12:00 noon

  1. Applicants should print their test permit and present it during the test.  Applicants without a test permit will not be allowed to take the exam.  Examinees should also wear their school ID during the exam.  They are advised to bring water and light snacks.  There is no need to bring pencils and scratch paper, as these will be provided.
  1. Assembly and lining up will take place in the Ateneo de Manila High School covered courts but the exam itself will be held in classrooms in the Senior High School building.
  1. There are no provincial testing centers.  The only testing venue is the Ateneo De Manila University campus in Loyola Heights, Quezon City. Thus, applicants from other areas will have to go to the Quezon City campus on the date of the test.
  1. Applicants currently enrolled in schools in other countries who cannot fly to the Philippines to take the entrance exam on October 5-6 have the option of taking a special exam in the last week of May 2020.  This option is exclusively for students enrolled in schools abroad.  Applicants (enrolled abroad) who opt for this special schedule should call the Office of Admission and Scholarships (4266006 local 6292), leave their names, the name of their school, contact numbers and active email addresses.  They shall be given instructions about a special process for filing their application.
