Doragos wins 2 bronzes at UAAP 81 Swimming; Ateneo girls place 4th

Portia Doragos won two bronzes at UAAP Season 81 With a medal haul of three bronzes, Ateneo Senior High School’s three-year-old girls’ swimming team placed fourth in the girls’ division of the UAAP Season 81 Swimming Championship, behind champion De La Salle University, 1st runnerup University of Santo Tomas, and 2nd runnerup University of the Philippines. Two of the three bronzes were won by Portia Doragos (ABM/12-Bobola) in the 100m breaststroke and 200m butterfly, while the third bronze was won by Nicole Eijansantos (GA/12-Holland), Caitlin Estepar (GA/11-Gonzaga), Nirel Ibarra (GA/12-Denn), and Margarita Estacio (GA/12-Denn) in the 800m freestyle relay. 

The nine members of the ASHS girls’ swim team are Marjorie Manguiat (GA/12-Gonzalez), Jesreel Francisco (GA/12-Denn), Jewelle Macatangay (HUMSS/11-Hurtado), Jam Maranan (STEM/11-Realino), Caitlin Estepar, Nirel Ibarra, Portia Doragos, Margarita Estacio, and Nicole Eijansantos.

A school is allowed to field up to 20 swimmers in a team. For the past two years, the ASHS girls’ swim team has been represented by nine swimmers in the UAAP swimming championship. They were coached at the UAAP Season 81 competition by Archie Lim and Candice Federiso.
