archive 2004 Ateneo to host 9th ASEF University The 9th session of the Asia Europe Foundation (ASEF) University, also called AU9, will be hosted by the Ateneo de Manila University on January 31 to February 15, 2004. The theme of AU9 will be "Asia and Europe Economic Partnership: Opportunities and Challenges for Enterprises in Changing Global Environment." The session will consist of both academic and non-academic or socio-cultural components. The academic component will feature lectures and presentations by leading academicians and practitioners, plenary discussions as well as facilitated discussions in smaller working groups. On the other hand, the non-academic or socio-cultural component will consisted of activities that promote interaction and exchanges among the participants, which will enable them to learn more about the culture and history of the host country. The highlight of the event will be a business planning competition. Around thirty-eight (38) students from twenty-five (25) countries in Asia and Europe are expected to participate. AU9 will be presented by the John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) and ASEF, in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Commission in the Philippines, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Tourism, and the JG Summit Group of Companies. by the Asia Europe Foundation and partner institutions with venues
