JGSOM Alumni, Students to Represent RP in Asia-Pacific Business Plan Competition

Students from the John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) are indeed the best in the country by dominating yet again another national business competition. Teams from the JGSOM were named Champion and First Runner-up in the recently concluded 2005 Young Entrepreneurs Best Business Plan Competition sponsored by the Junior Chamber International Philippines.

Champion Team Beyond Toys and Learning Inc. consists of BS LM '05 majors namely Timothy John Batan, Joan Lumawag, Kevin Ngochua, Anne Christine Quiatchon, Michelle Quizon and Stephanie Michelle Tan. The team's entry is Puzzled!, a set of brainteaser puzzles for children.

Meanwhile, First Runner-up Pacific Pearl Medical Travel consists of Management  seniors namely Joyce Anne Cariaso, Camille Bianca Gatmaitan, Titiana Marie Golez, Kathleen Joy Mercado, and Diana Roxas. The team's entry focused on services on medical tourism.

Both teams will represent the country in the Junior Chamber International Best Business Plan of Asia-Pacific Competition that will be held in Macau, China. If any of the entries make it to the finals, the team will be awarded an all-expense paid trip and hotel accommodation in Macau. The grand prize winner of the Best Business Plan of Asia-Pacific Competition will represent the region in the Best Business Plan of the World Competition in Vienna, Austria.

Only two teams from each participating schools are allowed to join the competition. Last year, JGSOM teams placed first and third.
