businesses better through JGSOM's Entrepreneurial Academy 2005 Work
better and smarter with the Ateneo Entrepreneurial Academy! Continuing its effort in making local businesses more competitive, the John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM), in cooperation with BPI Family Savings Bank, opens anew the Entrepreneurial Academy 2005 (EA '05). Crafted with the entrepreneur in mind, this seminar-workshop series is designed to help entrepreneurs, their managers, and key members of their staff who have their sights set on building their business and laying the groundwork for an organization that will last. The series will enable them to run their business better by covering both theoretical framework and practical knowledge on increasing productivity, avoiding common business mistakes, and making smarter decisions. A high-powered line-up of speakers and resource persons will share their experiences, their training, and their insights to help participants with their respective businesses. This
year's sessions are divided into three categories, namely: Getting You
Started, Growing Your Business, and Family Business Management, all of
which will be conducted at the John Gokongwei School of Management, Ateneo
de Manila University, Katipunan Road, Loyola Heights, Quezon City. Getting
You Started consists of Square One: Preparing a Winning Business
Plan, Cutting A Deal: Creative Financing and Alternative Funding
Sources for Your Business, and Business By-Laws: Pointers for the
Entrepreneur. Resource speakers are Augusto Dizon, Managing Director -
Iron Capital Management Corporation, Atty. Claro F. Certeza, Managing
Director - Strategic Franchising Concepts, Inc., and representatives from
BPI Family Savings Bank. Sessions will be held on May 28 and June 1 - 2. Meanwhile, Growing Your Business includes Finance for Entrepreneurs, Watching Your Bottom Line: Managerial Accounting, and The Personal Touch: Effective Human Resource Management for SMEs. Resource speakers are Dr. Darwin D. Yu, Chair - Department of Leadership and Strategy (JGSOM) and Enrique Abadesco, Jr., Principal Consultant - Effective Advisors. Sessions will be held on May 19 - 27. Lastly,
Family Business Management features Let's Talk About It:
Strategies for Family Conflict Resolution, Strategic Planning and
Professionalizing the Family Business, and Business Opportunities
in Franchising. Resource speakers are Enrique V. Abadesco, Jr.,
Principal Consultant - Effective Advisors, Ricardo H. Mercado,
Professorial Lecturer - Department of Leadership and Strategy (JGSOM), and
Atty. Claro F. Certeza, Managing Director - Strategic Franchising
Concepts, Inc. Sessions will be held on May 26 and June 3 - 4. The Entrepreneurial Academy is an outreach and service project of the JGSOM to the local business community.
