Making More Money in 2005

There are really just two ways to grow your savings: work harder to make more money, or get your money to work harder for you. In this seminar, you will be shown how you can make your hard-earned money work even harder for you.

The John Gokongwei School of Management and Entrepreneurial Academy, in cooperation with Equitable PCI, invite you to a special seminar called Personal Financial Management: Opportunities in 2005, which will be held on 1 December 2004 at the Ballroom of the New World Hotel in Makati.

Find out how you can better manage your personal finances by setting time-bound goals and developing a plan for achieving those goals. Top executives and investment advisers will present both traditional and non-traditional investment vehicles so that you can identify the ones most suited to your cash flows, your timing requirements, your personal interests, and your appetite for risk. The following are the speakers and their respective topics:

The creation of wealth is only half of the equation. Managing this wealth is the only way to protect your future. Mr. Francisco J. Colayco, Chairman, Personal Financial Plans, will share with you the principles of effective personal financial management and the secrets to achieving long term financial security in Playing Your Peso Right: Personal Financial Management.

Mr. Marvin V. Fausto, Senior Vice-President and Trust Officer, Trust Banking, Equitable PCI Bank, will take you through the traditional financial market and show how you can invest in bank instruments beyond the usual deposits in Into the Financial Market: Guaranteed and Non-Guaranteed Bank Instruments. See how these investment options can help you maximize your money, and give you more than hoped for returns.

Investing in the stock market need not be a high-risk game. There is a smart way of stocking up on equity investments. Let Mr. Antonio Jose U. Periquet, Managing Director, Deutsche Regis Partners, Inc., share with you in Stocking Up: Investment in Stocks the do's and don'ts of playing the stock market game. He will also walk you through the financial instruments that can let you play the equity markets the smart (and profitable) way.

The bubble economy of the early 1990's and the financial crisis that followed turned a lot of people off the real estate market. But now, more than ever, there are still a lot of good buys out there waiting. Find out how to tell the difference between a great deal and a white elephant. In addition, find out how you can reap an abundant harvest by investing in real estate in Landing a Good Deal: Investment in Real Estate by Mr. Federico C. Cuervo, President, Cuervo Appraisers, Inc.

Investing in a business venture can yield significantly better than most passive investments, as long as you have the appetite for the higher risk involved. How can franchising reduce the risks on this type of investment? How do you select the "right" franchise opportunity to tap? These concerns will be addressed by Mr. Rodolfo P. Ang, Director, Jolibee Franchisees' Association, and Dean, John Gokongwei School of Management, Ateneo de Manila University, in Tapping the Power of the Franchising Format.

There will also be two other topics (As of the moment, speakers are yet to be confirmed).

Today's insurance products are not just there to insure our future in case of unforeseen calamities—they are sophisticated financial instruments that can be excellent investment and savings vehicles for the discerning buyer. In Securing Your Future: Pre-Need Insurance, Pension Plans, and Annuities, find out how today's insurance products can take into account our personalized needs, including not just our emergency needs but our programmed financial requirements and personal savings goals, as well.

Lastly, buying an artwork is no longer just a matter of aesthetic pleasure—it is a solid investment that can be quite useful on that proverbial rainy day. Find out how investing in culture can make good business sense, and what your considerations should be if you would like your collection to appreciate in value over time in Cashing in on Culture: Art, Antiques, and Jewelry.

Seats are limited, so book now and find out how you can turn your hard-earned bonus into life-long personal investment fund. For reservation or inquiries, you may call (02) 849 607, fax (02) 849 6955, or e-mail jgsomforum@admu.edu.ph. Seminar Fee is P 4,000.
