Management Engineering
[ Message from the Director ] [ Curriculum ]

Founded in 1964, the Management Engineering (ME) Program is one of the honors programs offered by the John Gokongwei School of Management.

Management engineering graduates are recognized for their work ethic and discipline, analytical skills, leadership qualities and teamwork. With its emphasis on the scientific aspects of problem solving and decision making, the program enables students to deal rationally with management situations in organizations operating in an increasingly complex socio-political and economic environment.

Courses in the liberal arts provide the value formation that help graduates cope with moral and ethical challenges. Courses in the traditional management disciplines (marketing, finance, operations management, organizational behavior, and strategic management), economics, and the social sciences develop skills in qualitative analysis. In addition, the ME program provides substantive training in mathematics, statistics, operations research, information technology to develop skills in analyzing quantitative information and harnessing technology to improve business competitiveness.

Students are also required to undertake a practicum program during the senior summer to get hands-on experience on actual business practice  and working conditions.
