Welcome to the webpage of
the School of Science and Engineering! Through this
webpage, we invite interested individuals or groups to
link up with us or join us as students, collaborators or
colleagues.
There are two important qualities which characterize the
School of Science and Engineering:
First, we recognize the importance of
interdisciplinarity among science and engineering in
addressing many of our most important problem areas and
research topics. Starting from our strong expertise in
the individual disciplines, we actively promote
cooperation among the different science and engineering
disciplines. Current areas of interdisciplinary interest
include: information technology, the environment,
materials science and engineering, molecular biology,
and science and mathematics education.
Second, we believe in the unique role that universities
play in education and research. We devote individual
personal attention and support to our students to train
them and give them an appreciation for research. At the
same time, we draw out from them high level of research
output. We look forward to hearing from you.
