The launch conference of the
International Year of Physics (IYOP) “Physics for
Tomorrow” was held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris
from January 13-15, 2005. Over 500 students, selected
among the best physics students of over 80 countries,
represented the future of physics. Nobel prize winners
and renowned physicists delivered enlightening lectures,
and round table discussions focused on the role of
physics in society.
