Welcome to our website! We hope that through these
pages, you will get a glimpse of our university’s
activities and thrusts, particularly those of the School
of Science and Engineering.
Research plays an important role in our academic life,
and we invite you to visit the department websites to
know more about the specific work of faculty and
students and the support systems that enable them to
become leaders in their field. A particular strength of
our school is interdisciplinary collaboration,
especially in the areas of IT and computing,
telecommunications, environment, materials, molecular
biology, and science, mathematics, and IT education.
Education at the Ateneo de Manila University is
holistic—a vision and perspective that grew from 145
years of tradition, yet responds to the present
challenges of our world. This, perhaps, makes us unique.
We have a core curriculum that helps each student to
develop different facets—from communication and
computational skills to cultural and social
understanding to reflective and critical thought. This
is made possible by teachers who are exacting, but who
will be there to provide support and assistance. Aside
from the academic formation, there are many co- and
extra-curricular activities that develop leadership
skills, awareness of social and cultural contexts, and
spiritual maturity.
