The Master of Arts (MA) program, major in Communication, addresses the needs of media practitioners and professionals (teachers, journalists, broadcasters, film-makers, researchers, policy-makers), channeling graduate courses, research and theses towards Communication Education, Media Education, Communication Planning and Evaluation, and professional studies.
The admission requirements for MA in Communication are as follows:
A degree program leading to the Master of Arts, major in Journalism is designed primarily for working journalists who seek excellence and advancement in their craft through a comprehensive academic graduate-level training. The Konrad Adenauer Center for Journalism has developed and is offering the program in partnership with the Ateneo Department of Communication.
Most of the courses are conducted using non-traditional teaching methods to allow working journalists to weave their classes around their daily routine. Thus there are intensive on-campus, online courses and hybrid courses, i.e., combined online and on-campus sessions.
The degree may be finished at an accelerated pace of three regular semesters and a summer semester. The project allows the student to pursue a story, conduct in-depth reportage and put to use enterprise reporting skills. Scholarships covering tuition fees, travel, book allowance are available to qualified and deserving journalists from the region.
