A.B. Development StudiesThe Development Studies Program offers an inter-disciplinary theoretical and practical training for students who wish to pursue careers in social development and related professions. Using insights from economics, political science, sociology, and anthropology, the program exposes students to various theories of development, different approaches and strategies for social transformation, as well as many tools and skills required for development work, among them: research and planning, community organizing, project implementation, program evaluation, and policy analysis. It also provides students with opportunities to encounter from direct field experiences the problems of community and national development, thus instilling in them a broader and deeper understanding of the dynamics of socioeconomic and politic change in the global setting.
