THE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
The School of Social Sciences strives to bring about a world made more productive, more just, and more human by its commitment to teaching, research and action. It recognizes a multiplicity of perspectives from which to examine society - its history, social, political and economic lives. The eleven departments and programs which make up the School administer undergraduate and graduate degree programs and research centers:
- Chinese Studies
- Communication
- Development Studies
- Economics
- Education
- European Studies
- History
- Japanese Studies
- Political Science
- Psychology
- Sociology & Anthropology
Through these fields, the School strives to mold students sensitive to their immediate contexts as points-of-departure in their desire for global citizenship. Philippine society and culture is the wellspring from which the School seeks to draw its contribution to the nation, to the Asia-Pacific region, and to global inter-cultural heritage.
A place where spirituality is mature, where knowledge and wisdom is sought, where freedom of scholarship is upheld, where disciplines are diverse, where teachers and learners are united in collegiality - that is what the School of Social Sciences seeks to form.
