Incoming Ateneo de Manila Junior High School Grade 9 mathlete Tiel Blanca (Pamplona/8-Pongracz in school year 2020-2021) received a “Commendable” certificate- equivalent to a bronze award- following his participation in the Singapore Math Global Assessment held online in February/March 2021. Because he is among the assessment’s top 40% participants, Tiel is invited to join the Singa Math Global Finals to be held worldwide simultaneously on September 11, 2021.

The Singa Math online assessment is open to all students from grades 1 to 10/11, and measures the student’s math foundation for the year before their current level (e.g. Primary 2/Grade 2 is tested on the Primary 1/Grade 1 syllabus). Its participating countries and territories todate are China, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan.

Singapore Math is taught in over 70 countries globally and is the brainchild of dedicated mathematics educators who want to help students and teachers from all over the world to improve in math education and instruction.
