Important Information on Application to Grade 11 SY 2022-2023
Who is qualified to apply?
The applicant must be a member of his/her school’s Grade 10 batch at the time of application.
No minimum grade is demanded of Grade 11 applicants. However, ADMU-SHS seeks students with good academic performance, no failing grades and good deportment records.
The applicant must not have applied for Grade 11 in the Ateneo prior to this application.
The school does not accept transferees/applicants for Grade 12. Grade 11 is the only entry point into Ateneo de Manila Senior High School.
Will there be an entrance test (A-SHAPE) this year?
Under the current COVID-19 pandemic, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School gives primary importance to ensuring the health and safety of our applicants, their families as well as our own personnel. We also respect the current restrictions on the mobility of minors, recognize the potential risks of traveling outside the home, and wish to minimize occasions that may result in the further spread of the virus. For these reasons, no face-to-face entrance test (A-SHAPE) will be administered for screening of applicants for Grade 11 SY 2022-2023.
Due to challenges faced by a significant percentage of our applicants in terms of ensuring uninterrupted internet connectivity, and the challenges of ensuring the integrity of the test-taking process, the school has also decided against administering an online entrance test.
How will applications for Grade 11 SY 2022-2023 be screened?
Instead of the usual entrance test, all applicants will be screened based on academic performance (grades in Grade 8, Grade 9 and the first grading period of Grade 10), deportment, recommendations of teachers, and the student’s application essay (short autobiography). If more information is needed, some applicants may also be invited for an online interview; however, an invitation to be interviewed does not guarantee acceptance and the absence of an interview does not signify non-acceptance.
Ateneo de Manila Senior High School will make use of mathematical models and qualitative review to make adjustments for the differences in grading systems and standards of the different schools of the applicants.
Admission decisions will also be guided by the vision, mission, values and priorities of the school.
When will applications for Grade 11 SY 2022-2023 be accepted?
Applications for Grade 11 SY 2022-2023 will be accepted from October 1 until December 14, 2021
