Things to Consider Before Application

Before starting the application process, the applicant must ensure that

  • He/She is applying for Grade 11 SY 2024-2025. (The Ateneo de Manila Senior High School does not accept Grade 12 transfer applicants.)
  • The applicant is part of his/her school’s Grade 10 batch at the time of application or has completed Grade 10 as long as he/she is not currently enrolled in Grade 11.
  • He/She must not have applied for Grade 11 in Ateneo de Manila Senior High School prior to this application.
  • He/She is committed to following the instructions for the online process and completing the online application before the deadline.
  • He/She is committed to traveling to the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School campus in Quezon City in order to take the A-SHAPE on January 13 and 14, 2024. Note that there is no online test nor are there provincial or international testing centers.
  • Students currently enrolled in Grade 10 in schools based abroad may proceed with the application only if they can commit to taking the A-SHAPE in Quezon City on January 13 and 14, 2024. Those enrolled in schools abroad who are interested in applying but cannot travel to Quezon City in time for the January 13-14 exam must not proceed with the regular application process. Instead, they must signify their interest by filling up this consultation form. The ASHS Office of Admission and Scholarships will communicate with them via email regarding possible alternative arrangements.

Before filling out the online application form, the applicant must prepare the following:

  • A scanned copy (in PDF format) of the applicant’s birth certificate - Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) or National Statistics Office (NSO) issued birth certificate or the birth certificate issued by your country of origin. If the applicant's birth certificate is written in a language other than English, then provide a certificate of English Translation as an attachment.
  • If the applicant is NOT a Filipino citizen: a scanned copy of the valid passport bio page and a copy of the valid Philippine visa (both stamp/sticker and/or the ACR-I Card issued by the Philippine Government)- These documents must be scanned as one PDF file only.
  • If the applicant has dual citizenship, a PDF copy of at least one of the following documents: the applicant’s valid Philippine passport, certificate of recognition as a Filipino citizen, certificate of re-acquisition of Filipino citizenship or certificate of naturalization.
  • An image file (PNG, JPG/JPEG) of a recent ID picture of the applicant- The picture must be colored with a white background, with only the head and shoulders visible in the picture, as shown here.

  • A scanned copy (in PDF format) of the applicant’s final, completed Grade 9 report card (all parts/pages).
  • A scanned copy (in PDF format) of the applicant’s report card for the first grading period of Grade 10.  If this is not yet available, it may be uploaded later, as long as it is uploaded before January 31, 2024.
  • For all report cards: All pages of the report card and all information in the report card must be clearly visible in the scanned copy (information such as the name of the school, the name of the student, the grade level of the student and the school year, all of the grades, deportment ratings, the school administrator who certified the report card, the explanation of the grade equivalents, etc.)

  • Each applicant must also choose 2 teachers who have taught the applicant in grade 8, 9 or 10, know the applicant well and are willing to recommend the applicant. The applicant must ensure that the chosen teachers agree to fill up an online application form. The applicant must obtain the valid email address and contact number (official school contact information or personal contact information) of the teacher and must ensure that the contact information is correct. Incorrect information will lead to problems in the application process. The recommendation form will be emailed directly to the teacher and will not pass through the applicant.
  • Parent's Consent Form- Download the blank form here.  After asking the applicant's parent to review the content of the application form, the applicant should have the parent sign the consent form and save the signed form as a new PDF file in preparation for uploading it in the admission system.

Online Application Overview

The applicant needs to take the following steps:

  1. Create an account in the online system and generate a payment reference number.
  2. Pay the application fee of Php 750 through one of the following channels: (a) via Paybiz for mobile wallets (G-cash and Grab Pay) online bank transfer (BPI, BDO, UnionBank, PNB, RCBC); or (b) via WebPay for Visa/MasterCard debit or credit cards of any issuing bank. The option to pay directly to the cashier in the Ateneo campus is not available.
  3. Fill out the online application form [“Draft” status]. This stage also involves entering the email addresses of two recommenders (teachers) to trigger the sending of a Google Recommendation Form, and uploading the applicant's photo (JPG or PNG) and the required documents (PDF).
  4. Submit the filled-up form online and wait for Ateneo’s checkers/reviewers to check the completeness of the form [“For Review” status]. Ateneo’s checkers will either return the form online [“Return to Applicant” status] or move the form to the “For Recommendation” status.
  5. Edit the form according to the comments of the checkers/reviewers (if the form is returned to the applicant) and re-submit the form [“Return to Applicant” status].
  6. Follow up if the teacher-recommenders have sent their online recommendation forms [“For Recommendation” status] until Ateneo’s checkers/reviewers receive these online recommendation forms.
  7. Click on the applicant's chosen examination schedule in the online system and print the exam permit that will be sent to the applicant's official notification email [“For Examination” status].

Note that only those with exam permits will be allowed to take the entrance examination (A-SHAPE) and only those who have taken the A-SHAPE will be deliberated on for possible admission to the 2024-25 Grade 11 batch.

Step-by-Step Application and Payment Guides

It is the applicant’s responsibility to monitor his/her application and move it forward. In order to do this he/she must make the effort to read and follow the instructions of the online process. To assist the applicant, detailed, step-by-step guides to the application process are provided.

Please click on the buttons below to access the downloadable guides for navigating the application system. Applicants are advised to refer to these instructions as they accomplish each step in the process.

All applicants are also advised to download the instructions for payment of the Application Fee through their chosen payment channel. Please click on the links below to access the downloadable guides for the different payment channels.

You may download a copy of the Parent's Consent Form below.

Parent's Consent Form

Note that although each step in the application process can be completed in a few minutes, the whole process will take several days (5 days at the very least) to complete because of the waiting time for the payment to be received by Ateneo’s online system (3-5 working days), for the form to be reviewed by Ateneo’s checkers (1-2 days, depending on the queue of forms to be reviewed), and for the recommenders to fill up and send their recommendation forms to Ateneo.

We advise all of those who intend to apply to start the process as soon as possible.  The first step (creating an account and generating a payment ID number) only takes 10-20 minutes.
