Non-Discrimination Policies

Gender Equality

The University is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for the whole community. As such, policies on non-discrimination and equal treatment are reiterated in the various manuals of all the members of the university, including those for Faculty, Undergraduate and Graduate Students, Professionals, and Administration.

 

Loyola Schools' Undergraduate Student Handbook on "Right to Be Free from Harm and Discrimination"

  1. Students shall have the right to be free from all forms of harm and discrimination.

  2. Students shall have the right to be granted opportunities based solely on capabilities regardless of their personal background or declared special needs.

  3. Students with declared special needs shall have the right to avail themselves of services, accommodations, and support offered by the university.

 

Loyola Schools' Graduate Student Handbook on "Right to Human Dignity"

Students shall have the right to an enabling environment and to be treated with courtesy and respect regardless of their sex, gender, sexuality, ethnicity and religion. They shall be free from any form of discrimination, violence, and any action that will threaten their dignity and integrity.

 

Loyola Schools' Faculty Norm on "No Harassment and No Discrimination Policy"

The Loyola Schools supports gender sensitivity as a way of proceeding in all aspects of life in the community. As a Catholic and Jesuit institution, the Loyola Schools believes in and upholds the dignity of every person and opposes any form of discrimination and violation of human rights and deprivation of human dignity.

Conduct that results in sexual harassment is subject to the procedure of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation of the Ateneo de Manila University. Conduct that results in other types of sexual misconduct or discrimination is subject to the procedure of committees authorized by the VPLS to handle disciplinary cases in the Loyola Schools and in coordination with OHRMOD.

 

Employee Code of Conduct on "Respect for Persons"

Relationships with members of the University community and other stakeholders must be governed by mutual respect. Employees' conduct should promote a safe and healthy environment for all members of the community that is free from intimidation and harassment.

 

Code of Decorum and Administrative Rules on "Zero-Tolerance Policy"

The University adopts a Zero-Tolerance Policy against all forms of sexual and gender-based violence and discrimination, including sexual harassment, other forms of sexual misconduct, and inappropriate behavior. It shall impose disciplinary sanctions commensurate to the gravity of the infractions, up to termination or dismissal when warranted.
