Memo # U2122-073
6 May 2022
Memo to : The University Community
Subject : 2022 General Election – 9 May 2022
On the 9th of May, our country will hold its national and local elections. This also marks the 6th presidential and vice-presidential elections under the 1987 Philippine Constitution. Through our right of suffrage, we will choose our executive and legislative leaders who will propel our people and our country in reaching our development goals and improving the lives of our people.
May 9 has been declared a special non-working holiday by the President of the Philippines under Proclamation 1357. We call on the registered voters of our community to exercise their right to vote. The University will provide the following accommodations on May 10 to affected members of the community:
- Employees who are registered in their hometowns and will need to travel back to NCR for an onsite work schedule may file an application for an emergency leave on May 10 for the approval of their supervisor.
- Students and teachers of the Loyola Schools can find ways of addressing concerns regarding absences and deadlines for requirements based on the ADAA memo of 12 February 2022: UPDATED: Academic Policies Adapted to Fully Online and Flex Learning, Second Semester SY 2021-2022
- Faculty members of the Professionals Schools will provide necessary adjustments for deadlines and requirements for their classes on this day to give time for affected students returning from their respective hometowns.
Let us all make our votes count on this day and pray for clean, honest and peaceful elections. Fully aware that our responsibility as citizens does not end with our votes, let us do our part in supporting our chosen leaders and monitoring their performance in the next six years for our national leaders and three years for our local leaders.
God bless our country and all of us who dream of a better Philippines.
