SUBJECT
Appointment of Ms Genalyn S Sanvictores as Junior High School Principal

Upon the recommendation of the Search Committee for the Ateneo Junior High School (AJHS) Principal, and with the approval of the Ateneo de Manila Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Genalyn S Sanvictores as Junior High School Principal for a 3-year term, from 15 August 2023 to 31 May 2026.
Ms “Gen” Sanvictores is currently the AJHS Assistant Principal for Academics, a position she has held since 2018. With 19 years of solid experience as teacher and administrator in Ateneo, Gen has been part of leadership teams, which spearheaded crucial transitions related to the school’s K-12 reform, its shift to online and hybrid learning, and its return to full face-to-face learning after the pandemic. Prior to her current role, she served as teacher for Christian Life Education (CLE) from 2004 to 2018 in the high school and as CLE Coordinator in JHS from 2013 to 2018. Gen earned her MA in Theological Studies (2011) from Ateneo de Manila University and obtained her AB in Philosophy with a minor in History (2003), also from the same institution.
On behalf of the Ateneo de Manila, I would like to thank Gen for her magnanimity in taking on this mission of leading the Junior High School.
As we welcome Gen, we express our deep gratitude to the late Mr Jose Antonio “Jonny” P Salvador+ who served with untiring dedication and generosity as Junior High School Principal and Grade School Headmaster, and in various capacities within Basic Education over a span of more than three decades. His exceptional commitment left an indelible mark on his alma mater.
We express our appreciation as well for the work done by the AJHS Search Committee composed of Mr Gabriel F Mallillin (Chair), Fr Mamert B Mañus SJ, Ms Ma Lourdes B Antonio, Ms Pia Cristina M Navarrete, Ms Karen Patricia N Ong, and Ms Rizalina T Simpas. Amidst their busy schedules, they willingly dedicated time to assess, interview, discern, and endorse the most qualified candidates.
Let us support our new AJHS Principal with our cooperation and prayers. May St Ignatius of Loyola, whose feast we celebrated recently, inspire Gen in guiding the Junior High School in its goal to form young Christ-centered Ateneans of competence, conscience, compassion and commitment.
