ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Frances Wadsworth Jones

Frances Wadsworth Jones set up her eponymous jewellery label in 2008 after graduating from the Royal College of Art in London, and has since made a name for herself with her playfully conceptual and quietly provocative style.

Frances’ jewellery is not about trend. Her designs resists easy categories - instead they are characterised by a way of seeing that unites diverse references, from surrealism to pop culture, with traditional craftsmanship to create unpretentious and intelligent fine jewels.

From her Central London design studio, Frances works with a small team of specialist artisans to craft her unmistakable collections, in the sincere belief that luxury can be approachable and that fine jewellery need not play it safe to be timeless.

Nice Buenaventura

Nice Buenaventura is a visual artist and educator from Manila. Her methods revolve around the offloading of tensions, often between ethics and aesthetics, through drawing, painting, installation and (lay-)ethnography. This extends to her project called Tropikalye, an artist-authored resource on contemporary visual culture in tropical and postcolonial Philippines.
