The Rural-Urban Market Link Project is a USAID-funded initiative spearheaded by Global Organic and Wellness Corporation (GlowCorp), a farmer-led corporation involved in the marketing of agricultural products who has presence in more than 900 mainstream retails outlets such as Puregold, Robinsons, SM and other local regional stores nationwide. In this project, GlowCorp is partnering with six consortium members, namely AgriCOOPh, AsiaDHRRA, FSSI, NATCCO, PhilDHRRA, and PhilSSA, a network of developmental-oriented organizations and cooperative advocates.
The project aims to develop a business mechanism to facilitate the consolidation of agricultural products and link them to urban communities, particularly in Greater Manila. This marketing consolidation is expected to prompt better prices for farmers' products and provide opportunities, especially for women and youth entrepreneurs in urban areas. More importantly, the initiative offers quality food to consumers and comprehensive services to marginalized rural and urban sectors.
The Public Launching Event will gather stakeholders from the government, private sector, and other civil society organizations and hopes to open any possible collaboration opportunities that can provide support for the successful implementation of the project.
