Music can be a universal language that can cross language barriers because it communicates emotions and feelings in a way that transcends words – it serves as a powerful tool for bringing people together and bridging language differences. With its ability to convey emotions and experiences in a universally understood way, music helps break down cultural barriers by exposing people to new and diverse musical styles and the stories behind them. This is our goal with this year’s MandoPop Music Festival; to use music to bring people from different cultures and backgrounds together and bridge the language and cultural barrier between them.

MandoPop 2023 aims to bring non-Fil-Chi students together and introduce them to Chinese music and culture. What sets this year’s iteration of the event is the aim to bring a sort of indie gig feel to the event this year as we want people to have an authentic and genuine experience with music and we hope to bring a positive experience for first-time music festival goers. 

Along with appreciation for culture and music, MandoPop 2023 aims to give a unique experience to all festival goers by providing not only quality music from our participants, but enhancing the overall experience with guest performances by local indie artists and providing food and games that sees MandoPop 2023 as both a fun and memorable event.
