From Rivers to Streams
Please feel free to forward to your colleagues and networks. Apologies if you're receiving this more than once.

Housed at the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability, the ASEAN University Network on Ecological Education and Culture (AUN-EEC) is organizing a webinar entitled “From Rivers to Streams: A Situationer on ASEAN Ecosystems and Environmental Communication”. The free webinar aims to raise awareness on the current state of our environment and how this current state is being discussed in the public sphere.

The webinar will feature two talks. The first talk seeks to paint a compelling picture of the state of the environment and biodiversity in Southeast Asia, with a spotlight on how social development and economic growth have contributed to changes in the region’s ecosystems over the years. The second talk, flowing from the first one, will discuss and critique the prevailing practices and approaches on how the region communicates the state of our ecosystems to the general public.

As AUN-EEC puts premium on public engagement and localization of ecological issues, the webinar aspires to use language that is accessible and is easily understood by the general public coming from varied background and nationality. This webinar is first in the series of AUN-EEC events this year focusing on the theme of engaging the public on ecological restoration and reconciliation.

The application process for membership for universities, students organizations, LGUs, and NGOs among others to the AUN-EEC network will also be discussed during the webinar.

The webinar will be on 12 April 2023 (Wednesday) at 3:00–5:00PM (Manila time).
