Brief Description of the Topic:
The capacity of Filipino second-generation siblings to work as a team is needed to successfully grow and transition the family business to the next generation. This exploratory study, based on narratives of 9 sibling family business members, revealed four categories: sibling-team members’ individual characteristics, their relationship dynamics, their shared work values, and their determination to preserve family and sibling relationships. Central to these Filipino sibling-teams is the importance and attention they give to their familial relationship in various aspects of their work. Valuing sibling and family relationships is fundamental in making these sibling-teams succeed.
