Invitation to a Mass in Commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Sen. Benigno S. “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. on August 21, 2023
21 August 2023 will mark the 40th anniversary of the martyrdom of Sen. Benigno S. “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr.
In commemoration of his ultimate sacrifice that strengthened the movement for the restoration of democracy and that eventually led to the 1986 EDSA Revolution, the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation is inviting members of the university to attend a mass in memory of Sen. Aquino on 21 August 2023, Monday, at 10:00 am at the Sto Domingo Church in Quezon City. Archbishop Socrates Villegas will be the mass presider.
Employees and Higher Education students who wish to avail of free transportation to and from Sto. Domingo Church may register on a first-come-first-served basis as seats are on a limited capacity, and may bring up to two (2) relatives/companions.

In compliance with the guidelines for student participation in off-campus activities, students who will participate in this activity are required to submit the following forms before 14 August Monday. The links for the forms are also included in the online registration form:

Students who fail to comply with these requirements will not be allowed to join the activity.

CAMPUS ACCESS REQUEST (CAR)
Companions without an Ateneo ID are required to apply individually for a CAR through this link: https://go.ateneo.net/CARAug21Mass. The link is also provided in the online registration form.
Please note that those without an approved CAR will be denied entry into the campus.
Deadline for registration and submission of requirements is on Monday, 14 August, at 3:00 pm. Registration, however, will close once the seats are filled before the deadline. A confirmation email will be sent to those whose slots are reserved.
Other important details to keep in mind:
- Participants and their companions are requested to bring the following:
- ID (Ateneo ID for students and employees)
- Water
- Medication
- Umbrella or jacket in case of rain
- Alcohol, tissues or wipes, face mask (highly encouraged)
- Food:
- A light snack will be provided to each participant and companion.
- Since the mass is expected to end by lunch time, participants are encouraged to also bring their own snacks/meals.
- Trash will not be collected inside the bus; thus, participants are requested to be responsible for their own trash.
- Assembly details:
- Boarding and embarkation area: Gonzaga/SEC Parking
- Assembly time: 7:30 am
- Parking: designated parking for students and employees near Gonzaga
- Departure details:
- From Ateneo: 8:00 am
- Estimated time of departure from Sto. Domingo: 12:00-12:30 pm (estimated time of arrival in Ateneo: 1:30 pm)
- Participants and companions may opt not to ride with the Ateneo contingent on the way back. They need to inform their designated marshall.
- Attire:
- Comfortable clothes and shoes
- Participants and companions may consider wearing something yellow
