EDC Mini Arboretum
29 Aug 2019
We are happy to welcome 101 Philippine Native Trees in the newly inaugurated EDC Mini Arboretum found between Eliazo Hall and the Jesuit Health and Wellness Center. The inauguration was held on August 29, 2019. Twenty-seven different endangered species of native trees will call the campus their new home in this partnership with the EDC-BINHI. This collection of trees aims to cultivate mother trees that will ensure the production of seeds for these vanishing species. The growth of these trees will be monitored by Ateneo and updates will be sent to EDC-BINHI to help provide data about the flowering/fruiting seasons and survival rate of planted seedlings among other growth parameters.
This arboretum was created in memory of Juan R. Zapanta.
