Pathways scholar shares about Filipino student life with Aiducation International in Switzerland

What a moment for Pathways and Aiducation!

Pathways participant and Ateneo de Manila University scholar Rae Magcalas (4 BS Legal Management) went to Zürich, Switzerland from 31 Oct - 7 Nov to represent the Philippines in the 2022 Aiducation Impact Dinner held at ETH Zürich. Rae shared her life and leadership journey to over 100 distinguished guests and helped raise awareness on the challenges Filipino students face in their pursuit of quality education. Rae is the first Filipino student featured in an in-person Impact Dinner since 2016.

While in Zürich, Rae also met with other existing and potential donors, such as PWC Switzerland, Swiss Re, UBS, WeRobotics, and Zühlke to drum up more interest in supporting Filipino students through Aiducation, especially students from Pathways. She also had the chance to tour Zürich and meet with her previous academy mentors from Swiss Re, Zühlke, and Synpulse, and her current mentor from UBS Bank.

Pathways is the Philippine arm of Aiducation. They support the scholars’ participation in the Pathways program and their allowances. They also sponsor 1-on-1 mentoring programs and week-long stay-in academies. In these academies, participants learn about skills such as design thinking, project management, and entrepreneurial mindset alongside mentors from Aiducation’s corporate partners who fly to the Philippines from all over the world.
