Dr. Raphael A. Guerrero recorded his first hologram in 1996 and has since published papers on volume holography in Optics Communications, Applied Optics and Optical Engineering. Currently coordinator of the photonics laboratory, his other research interests include elastomeric optics and optofluidics. In 2013, Dr. Guerrero received The World Academy of Sciences Prize for Young Scientists in Developing Countries. He
was also recognized as an Outstanding Young Scientist by the National Academy of Science and Technology in the same year. Dr. Guerrero served as president of the Physics Society of the Philippines (SPP) in 2011 and 2012. He is a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE).
